Dr. Tanya LeRoith

Tanya LeRoith, DVM, PhD, is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology at Virginia Tech.  She currently serves as the Director of Virginia Tech Animal Laboratory Services (ViTALS).  She teaches pathology and virology, and supports infectious disease, cancer, and immune-mediated disease research.  She completed an anatomic pathology residency and PhD at Washington State University under the guidance of Terry McElwain and Tim Baszler who first introduced her to AAVLD. She took her first faculty position at Virginia Tech in 2005 and became Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology (Anatomic Pathology) in 2006. In 2012, she was appointed as the Director of the ViTALS lab with the goal of AAVLD accreditation.  ViTALS was given provisional accreditation in 2016 and has been fully accredited since 2017.
