Anatomic and clinical pathologists are invited to submit cases for the Diagnostic Pathology Slide Seminar at the 2017 AAVLD meeting. Necropsy, surgical pathology, or cytology cases that present a diagnostic challenge, represent an emerging disease, or exemplify a classic condition are solicited. *New for 2017* Pathology residents and graduate students will be eligible to compete for the 2017 Diagnostic Pathology Slide Seminar Award. This award will be presented for the best student case presentation. It has a monetary value of $200.00. Abstracts: All abstracts should be received by June 30, 2017. Graduate students and residents considered for the Diagnostic Pathology Slide Seminar Award are given priority for selection and should indicate their eligibility for the award at the time of submission. Experienced pathologists are also encouraged to submit abstracts. Because of this change, no decisions regarding acceptance of abstracts will be made before June 30, 2017. Style and format: Abstracts are limited to one page. Please use one inch margins and Times New Roman, 11 pt font, center and bold the title; center authors (full first name and last name) and affiliations below the title, and bold the presenter’s name. Previous year’s handouts and abstracts are available on the AAVLD website (https://aavld.memberclicks.net/pathology-slide-sets) for use as an example. Presentations: Accepted presentations will be allotted 5 minutes and another 4 minutes for questions. Presenters of necropsy and surgical pathology cases must supply a set of 65 H&E stained glass slides. Cytology cases should consist of as many glass slides as possible; if less than 65 slides are available, then a representative series of high quality digital images should be provided. Case materialshould be submitted to Dr. Dodd Sledge by September 1st, 2017 to allow for distribution and review by attendees prior to the seminar. Each presenter and their sponsoring laboratory will receive a set of slides at no charge. Remaining slide sets will be available, on a first come-first serve basis, for a $50 donation to the Pathology travel fund of the AAVLD Foundation.
